International Day for Tolerance

   The 16th of November is declared by the United Nations as the “International Day for Tolerance”. As it is mentioned in the UN’s statement, the strengthening of tolerance “is more important than ever in this era of rising and violent extremism and widening conflicts that are characterized by a fundamental disregard for human life”.

   The deepening of the crisis of the system with the intensification of war conflicts, austerity measures and migration is creating the worst conditions of living for refugees and migrants. Facing racism and discrimination, they struggle to rebuild their destroyed lives, in new and unwelcome for them countries. In a world like this it is of course not only the refugees and the migrants who face discrimination. Any kind of diversity is under the attack of the conservative forces who try to divide the peoples in any possible way.

   To this brutal conditions WFDY opposes with solidarity and internationalism! When imperialism tries to divide and separate us the response can only be given by unity and international solidarity. The struggle for a world of tolerance and respect is one and the same with the wider struggle against imperialism.
