WFDY about the International Youth Day

   WFDY honours today the International Youth Day. 28 years are completed this year since the decision of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1990, to establish the 12th of August as International Youth Day, focused on the difficulties and the problems of young people all around the planet.

   We are now living in a period when the recent economic crisis and all the consequences that followed are questioning the rights of the youth in education, health and work. The given conditions make the need for a massive youth movement a necessity. Of course, massiveness is not the only characteristic that this movement needs.

   The struggle against the exploitation and against all those who see profit in the desperation of the young people is the key element for a successful movement in a world full of injustice. A target like this cannot be realistic without the connection of this struggle with the total struggle against imperialism.

   We can say, with scientific accuracy that all the problems of humanity today, are problems of a system which exist by the exploitation and regenerates through wars and destruction. The unemployment of the youth in one region is connected with the colonialism in another. Refugees and low paid workers, uneducated youth and people starving to death, are all coming from the same source.

   We call the youth of the world, we call all the people who love peace and who dream a world with social justice, to stand together and to fight for it. It is a great need to face our problems as a whole, to realise that the enemy is one, the barbaric imperialist system and to stand with solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters against this enemy. For a future as we deserve it, for a future for the youth, in order to leave behind the rotting old world, for progress, evolution, peace and social justice.

   Youth Unite and together we shall win!
