On the International Students’ Day

   The 17th of November is celebrated as the International Students’ Day. This day, whose origin is deeply connected with the brave struggle of the Czech students’ movement against the nazi-fascist oppression and occupation over the country, is more than ever up to date.

   On this date, we also remember the Athens Polytechnic uprising against the Greek military junta (1967-1974), which ended in bloodshed on the17th of November 1973.

   The #students of the world have been one of the most militant parts of society. Student #struggles nowadays as well as in the past, were not only about students’ rights and the right to free education but also about the general demands of the peoples.

   On this day, #WFDY reaffirms its #solidarity and full support to the students’ movement which is being at the forefront of the struggles against the different forms of #imperialism. We call upon our member and friendly organizations to continue their struggle for public, free and quality #education for everyone.
