Solidarity with the Lebanese People

   Dear comrades,

   Receive a fraternal salute from the HQ of the World Federation of Democratic Youth.

   During the last months, the struggle of the Lebanese people against the anti-popular policies of their government, written by and for the ruling class, has gained strength. The stronger the Lebanese people have been, the more repression and police brutality they have suffered. Nowadays, the escalation of the brutality is in a high stage. Hundreds of people are being detained, repressed and injured.

   According to the agreements of the 20th Assembly of the WFDY, we have to make our Federation more militant. This situation that the Lebanese people and our comrades of ULDY are suffering needs an international response.

   Because of that, the HQ of WFDY wants to share with you a proposal to work in your countries in solidarity with the Lebanese people. Organising demonstrations, protests in front of the Lebanese embassies in your countries, solidarity events, solidarity campaigns, etc. could be great tools to denounce the repression of the Lebanese government against the people. Any kind of action that each organisation can take will be a great contribution to solidarity with the Lebanese people.
