Spokesman for Korean Jurists Committee Hits out at U.S. Missile Attack on Syria

   Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- The U.S. should be punished according to international law as its military attack on Syria was an undisguised act of aggression and war crime, says a spokesman for the Korean Jurists Committee in a statement on Friday.

   Recalling that the U.S. attacked an airbase of the army of the Syrian government with dozens of cruise missiles on March 7 under the absurd pretext of the Syrian army's use of chemical weapons, the statement says:

   This act should never be pardoned as it runs counter to the UN General Assembly resolution on definition of aggression and Paris Treaty on war renouncement and constitutes an act of aggression and a war crime definitely specified by the Nuremberg Military Tribunal.

   It is the U.S. which is most loud-mouthed about "implementation of resolutions" since it initiated and signed the treaty on war renouncement before anyone else.

   But the U.S. used aggression and war as a lever for carrying out its policy in disregard of international law. It made missile attacks on the countries incurring its disfavor in wanton violation of their sovereignty.

   The international community should never tolerate the U.S. attack on Syria but mete out a due punishment to the harasser of peace.
