In Solidarity with the People of Iran

   We as the World Federation of Democratic Youth observes the rising protests across Iran due to the 50% hike of the gasoline prices and Governments’ unresponsiveness towards the demands of the people. According to the information received to us within past years, gasoline price has been increased thirty-fold and the current increase will only drag population in poverty into more suffering due to the hikes would be caused in the prices of food and transport.

   We are certain that the solution for the problems does not lie on deployment of police violence on civilians or blocking the internet. We have noticed that more than 12 people have been killed and many other protesters have been injured and unjustly incarcerated.

   #WFDY condemns the disregarding of the Iranian government for the demands of the people and the brutal deployment of police violence on people. We wish strength for the people of Iran in their struggle of demanding rights. Our condolences go to the families and the friends of the people who sacrificed their lives wish fast recovery for those who have been injured.

   We vehemently condemn the violence on people and unjust incarceration. We convey our comradely greetings to the comrades of our member organization, #Tudeh Youth of Iran and comradely wish the strength to guide the struggles to end the violence and continue struggle until winning the demands. Simultaneously, we hope that Tudeh Youth of Iran and Tudeh Party of #Iran keep their watchful eyes open to prevent any #imperialist interventions from taking advantage of the current situation in the country.

   At this moment of need we request all progressive organizations around the world to stand in #solidarity with the people of Iran in their struggle demanding the rightful lives they deserve.
