In Solidarity with Indian Student Movement

   For several weeks the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University in #Delhi, #India are protesting against the curtailment of student welfare and fee hikes. Student Union brought the struggle to the streets several times and it has been suppressed brutally by using the police forces which has resulted in detaining and injuries to the protesting students.

   On 23rd of November a successful Parliament March had occurred with the participation of civil societies, student organizations and workers to support the protest of the JNU Student Union. Main slogan of the protest is “make education affordable to all” and “Free education for all”.

   All India Students Federation which is a member organization of the #WFDY also actively participated in these protests. Education is a universal right and cannot be a privilege. We stand with the fights demanding right and access to education and condemn the suppression on protesting students. We also wish strength and courage to the Indian Student #Movement to continue the struggle to safeguard public #education and demanding rights of students as well as people.
