Statement of the World Federation of Democratic Youth for the 50th Anniversary of the Murder of Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara
Fifty years ago, the rebel who personified the dreams of freedom for the Latin American people and the whole world was assassinated in La Higuera Bolivia.
The Heroic Guerrilla, Ernesto Che Guevara, passed away to eternity, leaving a legacy of integrity, determination and confidence in the anti-imperialist struggle as the only way to save humanity.
His confidence in the youth, and the ability of the new generation to form an equal society based on free people with the high values, commander Ernes¬to Che Guevara is and will always be the legacy that shines our path and will remain the symbol of struggle, that grows stronger each day. His ideas inspi-red millions of free people and the youth of the twenty-first century to conti-nue struggling for their rights and for a better world.
We are one week far from XIX World Festival of Youth and Students that will take place in Sochi, Russia, dedicating the biggest international event of the youth to the personality of Comandante Che Guevara under the principles of peace, solidarity, social justice and anti-imperialism and the knowledge of history to achieve a better future, that describes the legacy that he left to the new generations.
The XIX Edition of the Festival will be a tribute from the anti-imperialists in the world, progressive youth and the international left movement to the eternal guerrilla, the internationalist, the intellectual, the doctor, and to the first commander of the Fidel's Guerrilla.
The World Federation of Democratic Youth addresses the international youth not to give up on struggle, to always remember and to fight for our princi¬ples and values, to promote Solidarity and internationalism. United we shout the historic farewell phrase: "Hasta la victoria Siempre"
