llich Ramirez "Carlos" Speaks about Egypt, Tunisia and Lybia

   1. Transcription of a phone call with his Turkish lawyer Guven Yilmaz on April 17, 2010:

   "I will tell you something. The Egyptian regime is going to pay a very heavy price for this [for the role they played about Gaza] I think, when President Mubarak has disappeared -his health isn't good and his time is short now-, the regime will completely lose any kind of historical legitimity. Don't forget that Mubarak was a 1967 war hero. He was a Nasserite, an Arab nationalist, so all this will be lost then. Therefore, maybe, they will try to bring some open-minded people from the West, for example, the former director of the Atomic Energy Organization. They are going to bring him back to Egypt to be elected as president. By the way, he is a good man; not a revolutionary but a decent man, you know, an honest man, not an agent as well. But the idea why the West supports this man is the following:

   They, the West, are afraid that there will be a revolutionary explosion and a civil war in Egypt. If this happens, I mean the army, don't forget that the army is a popular army. of course, I'm talking about the soldiers".

   After the breaking down of the Soviet Union and the Warshaw Pact, the Cold War as known, has changed its character, continuing as a kind of power conflict instead of an ideological one. The main enemy remains Yankee Imperialism and Zionism. The repeated financial crises show the capitalist system in its final imperialist stage, becoming more dangerous than ever, as it struggles for the first time for its own survival.

   President Ben Ali left Tunisia on US urging, to prevent the peoples insurrection becoming a revolution. Egypt is next in line, with its very decayed regime; Yankee imperialists will push Egypt into a so called "democratic" change, in order to forestall revolution. Lybia'system of government represents the Jamahir, with an undisputed historical leader? Rational socialist measures should be recalled, to reverse the growing gap between the rich, and the great majority who aren't!

   The brother Colonel alone had the courage to express his recognition to Ben Ali, the man who helped the Jamahirya to resist the blockade on the flase pretxt of the Lockerbie Affair, which was rather a yankee auto-goal. The political leaders of other nations are spitting venom upon the ousted president, who was their generous host for two decades.

   Incidentally, a member of the Central leadership of our Organization of Internationalist Revolutionaries (O.I.R.), played a role in establishing in Tripoli the needed contact between the head of Ben Ali's personal securityu and the Guide's own, leading to the first visit of Ben Ali after taking power.

   Regrettably, neither comrade Johannes Weinrich (in a Berlin prison since 1995) nor I, have we received the slightest sign of solidarity from our lybian brothers...

   I hope that this answer to Khalid El Moutaani, will enlighten the African Peoples Committee, and the Guide.
